When it comes to decorating, what is your
favourite style?
It has to be Georgian style. It is timeless, luxurious
and opulent. The traditional mouldings on the ceilings,
the colour schemes and rich fabric textures really appeal
to me. I adore panelled walls; but at the same time, instead
of the heavy furniture, I prefer simple and contemporary
furniture, with its clean lines. That style never goes
out of fashion!
Who is your favourite decorating guru?
Tell us why.
Geoffrey Bradfield. He is South African born but based
in the U.S. He is the master of clean, but dramatic interiors.
The rooms that he decorates are always dressed, polished
and very glamorous. Like me, his signature palette is
neutral, but he will emphasis glamorous lighting and rich
textures. I love how he always uses art as a focal point
on most of his designs.
When it comes to service, what do you
believe are your personal strengths?
I believe I’m very patient; I’m able to listen
and respond well to the customer. Over the years I have
learned to communicate well with people because I’m
generally outgoing. Having to deal with people on a daily
basis, I have the ability to handle pressure from all
kinds of people on different levels.
What motivational words most inspire
you?
I’ve had good seasons and some deeply painful ones.
I’ve made some spectacularly good choices and some
outrageously bad mistakes. I’m very human - a work
in progress. Robin Sharma
